Alison Brittain becomes the first female to chair the Premier League.

The Premier League officials has appointed Alison Brittain as the chairperson, who will take over the role next year.

After the announcement, Alison Brittain becomes the first lady who will chair the Premier League.

She is the first woman to step in the paid role on a permanent basis and will now work closely with Debbie Hewitt, who has been FA chair since January.

Alison Brittain will take over her role after the departure of interim chair Peter McCormick in early 2023.

Brittain previously held a number of senior roles in the British banking industry, serving as group director in the retail division of Lloyds Banking Group. The 57-year-old, Brittain also spent nearly two decades at Barclays, has been on the advisory boards of the last three British Prime Ministers. She is currently the senior independent director at data credit firm Experian.
