Aaron Smith and Beauden Barrett confirmed their move to the Japanese club, Toyota Verblitz.

All Blacks superstars Aaron Smith and veteran scrumhalf Beauden Barrett have officially confirmed their move to the Japanese club,
Toyota Verblitz after the end of this year's Rugby World Cup in France.

The pair are the two most-capped backs in All Blacks' history, with 34-year-old Smith playing 114 Tests and 31-year-old Barrett 112.

Halfback Aaron Smith has signed a long-term deal with Toyota, meaning 2023 is likely to be his last season in New Zealand.

However, fullback Beauden Barrett could return home to play after 2024.

It is not yet clear whether Barrett will return to his current team the Auckland Blues once his time in Japan is up.

Barrett previously played in Japan in the 2021 season, running out 10 times for the Suntory Sungoliath.
