Rory McIlroy might be scratching his head over what it takes to win a golf tournament again, which seems surprising for someone with 40 impressive wins under his belt.
Rory McIlroy's recent near miss at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth marks his second runner-up finish in just two weeks, having also lost to Rasmus Hojgaard at the Irish Open.
Both events were highly coveted: the historic Royal County Down in Northern Ireland and the flagship DP World Tour event, both drawing large crowds cheering for McIlroy.
Unfortunately, these results add to a list of frustrations for 2024, including a defeat by Tommy Fleetwood at the Dubai Invitational, struggles at the US Open, and a costly mistake at the Olympics.
