In 2022 Candidates Tournament, all grandmasters are in a race of bagging points to top the tally of points.

All the participants are quite busy in beating each other, while Ian Nepomniachtchi remains cool and collected, doing his own thing, and most importantly he is not losing. He is leading and increasing his lead points in a cool way.

Nepomniachtchi had clinched the Candidates Tournament Title last year, now in this year's tournament he is pretty much closer to bag the title. If he wins this year's title then he will be winning his second Candidates title back-to-back, a feat that only one player in history managed in tournaments: GM Vasily Smyslov, who won in both 1953 and 1956.
