One Day Cricket is a game where the batsmen strive to score quick runs and put up a big total in a limited number of overs. Often, bowlers are at the receiving end of the onslaught by the batsmen.
This urgency of scoring quick runs became more visible since the introduction of the 30 yard circle rule in 1992. Batsmen have always wanted to take advantage of this rule and smash the bowlers all over the park.
However, there have been instances where the bowlers have had the upper hand and they choked the batsmen for runs. Such instances have been few and remarkable. There have been 33 instances of bowlers giving away runs at an incredible economy of less than 1 Run per over (where they have bowled a minimum of 7 overs)
These innings are a testament to the remarkable control the bowlers had while bowling. Interestingly, the focus maybe was on choking the runs, and hence only on 7 occassions out of 33 innngs, the bowler had taken 4 or more wickets. There was an exhibition of complete helplessness by the batsmen to score off the bowler.
Today we list 33 such bowling performances where the bowler has succeeded in bowling 7 or more overs at an incredible Economy Rate of less than 1.00.
