Ashes: England v Australia, Day 2 of the first Test Broad, England's second-highest Test wicket-taker, was dropped. Australia were "shocked" by captain Pat Cummins that England dropped bowler Stuart Broad for the first Ashes Test at the Gabba in Brisbane. "I thought at least one would play in every game, if not both," Cummins said.
Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the ODI captain of India, ending the five-year reign of Virat Kohli. The BCCI said in its statement that the selectors "decided" that Rohit should take the responsibility of "going ahead" of the ODI and T20I teams. Rohit will also take over as the Test vice-captain in place of Ajinkya Rahane.
