The BBC has apologized and officially announced that Gary Lineker has been reinstated as presenter of the flagship BBC football show, Match of the Day.
It all came to a head on Friday when it became public that the BBC had asked Lineker to temporarily step down from presenting Match of the Day after rightly opposing the Tory government's new anti-refugee proposals.
After the announcement of Gary Lineker's return, BBC director-general Tim Davie delightfully expressed that "Gary is a valued part of the BBC and I know how much the BBC means to Gary, and I look forward to him presenting our coverage this coming weekend."
