Williams Books Saudi Masters Final Spot Against Trump.

Mark Williams will go head-to-head with world number one Judd Trump in the final of the first-ever Saudi Arabia Masters on Saturday.

Welshman Mark Williams defeated China’s Si Jiahui 6-3 in their semi-final, while England’s Judd Trump narrowly beat Shaun Murphy 6-5 to secure his spot in the inaugural Saudi Arabia Masters final.

Jiahui, who had previously knocked out Ronnie O’Sullivan, started strong with a break of 116. However, Williams responded by winning the next four frames. Although Jiahui fought back with a 136 break to make it 5-3, Williams clinched the match in the following frame.

In the other semi-final, Trump survived a tense final-frame decider to reach the final.

Trump, 35, built a 3-0 lead with breaks of 67 and 72, but Murphy clawed one back before the interval.

The players traded frames, with Trump leading 5-3, but Murphy equalized with breaks of 78 and 60 to force a decider.
