India suffered disappointing 9-runs defeat against South Africa in the first ODI at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Winning the toss India elected to bowl first. Batting first South Africa posted a massive total of 249 runs by losing 4 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs.
Unbeaten fifties from David Miller (75) and Heinrich Klaasen (74) helped South Africa to score the massive total.
In reply, India batters failed to produce the momentum to achieve the required score. Losing early wickets, the batting line up got trembled. Sanju Samson's unbeaten 86 runs helped India to reach 240 runs but ultimately failed to acquire the target.
