Legendary Scottish football manager Craig Brown has passed away at the age of 82 after suffering from illness.

Craig Brown remains Scotland’s longest-serving manager having taken charge of 71 games between 1993 and 2001.

During his reign with the national team, Brown guided Scotland to Euro ’96 and the 1998 World Cup.

His club managerial career involved spells in charge of Preston North End, Motherwell and Aberdeen, with his contributions to football recognised with a CBE in 1999.

Brown also received an honorary doctorate in 2001 from Abertay University. For many members of the Tartan Army, he still holds the unofficial title of the Scotland team’s greatest ever manager.
