Australia Cricket Board is delighted to announce the appointment of pace bowler, Pat Cummins as the new skipper replacing previous ODI skipper Aaron Finch, who recently announced his retirement from 50-overs cricket.
Opening batter David Warner was not eligible for the role due to his lifetime ban from leadership positions following the ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town.
With the appointment, Pat Cummins becomes Australia's 27th ODI captain (Men). Cummins will now lead his side in Test cricket and ODI cricket. Meanwhile, Aaron Finch will continue to lead the side in T20Is.
