Sam Noakes kept his unbeaten streak and European lightweight title with an easy win over Gianluca Ceglia at London’s York Hall.
At 27, Noakes spent seven rounds systematically wearing down Ceglia, who didn't return for the eighth due to body shots and swelling above his right eye.
"Noakes said, "Fights like this are really going to bring me on. If a world title fight opportunity comes up next week, I'll take it."
This victory was Noakes' 15th career win and his 14th by knockout, making him only the second fighter to stop Ceglia in 26 bouts.
After achieving 13 knockouts in his first 13 fights, Noakes came into this match following his first points win last April.
