Wolverhampton Wanderers Chairman Jeff Shi has been in search for a new boss since sacking head coach Bruno Lage last week.
Recently, Jeff Shi has been in talks with Julen Lopetegui over the vacant head coach role this weekend.
Lopetegui has previously bossed Spain and Real Madrid, is represented by Jorge Mendes to Jeff Shi.
Wolves ex-coach Bruno Lage was sacked last weekend following a run of poor results, with one win in their last 15 games, which has seen Wolves drop to the Premier League relegation zone.
On the other hand, Lopetegui was sacked by Sevilla on Wednesday night following their 4-1 Champions League collapse against Borussia Dortmund.
If Lopetegui is appointed, it is not expected to be until later this week at the earliest and interim bosses Steve Davis and James Collins are taking training this week as normal in preparation for the upcoming Nottingham Forest game.
