PSG goalkeeper, Sergio Rico is in ICU after a horse riding accident.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) back-up goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been admitted to intensive care following a horse riding accident.

The French football club has officially confirmed that Rico is in the ICU at a hospital in Seville.

The 29-year-old was on the bench for PSG in their 1-1 draw away at Strasbourg that sealed their Ligue 1 title triumph on Saturday night.

It is said that the horse Rico was riding in the Spanish province of Huelva was hit by a runaway horse, causing him to fall. He suffered a head injury. 

Rico was taken by helicopter to Seville’s Virgen del Rocio hospital, where he was placed on life support. He has had to be intubated as a result of his injury, with tests continuing to be carried out.
