Penalty in the Pits: Chris Wilder Slapped with £11,500 Fine for Referee Critique.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder faces a hefty £11,500 fine from the Football Association following his remarks regarding referee Tony Harrington post his team's defeat to Crystal Palace last January.

Wilder didn't mince words, labeling Harrington's performance as "ridiculous." Adding fuel to the fire, he revealed that a Premier League referee had warned him before the match that his team wouldn't get any 50-50 calls.

The Football Association swiftly reacted, deeming Wilder's comments as improper conduct. Not stopping there, Wilder also took aim at one of Harrington's assistants, accusing them of disrespect for munching on a sandwich during their post-game discussion.

Charged on February 14th, the FA cited Wilder's remarks as implying bias, attacking the referee's integrity, and tarnishing the game's reputation.
