Leeds United is set to terminate manager Javi Gracia and is willing to appoint Sam Allardyce as his replacement.

Leeds United is keenly looking forward to appointing former England boss Sam Allardyce as their new manager of the season with the club poised to sack Javi Gracia following the 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.

Leeds are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference after five Premier League games without a win. Director of Football Victor Orta will also leave his role.

Leeds dropped to 17th place after Leicester's 2-2 draw with Everton on Monday and are staring relegation in the face having taken one point from their last five.

Gracia has been at the helm for just two months having replaced Jesse Marsch, but a shocking run of form has seen the Leeds fans turn on the Spaniard, seemingly to the point of no return.

Former Watford boss Gracia won three of his first six games in charge as Leeds climbed to 13th.

Former England manager Allardyce has emerged as a strong contender to succeed Gracia. He has been out of football since leaving West Brom in May 2021 following his first top-flight relegation.

Lee Bowyer, who made 265 appearances for Leeds between 1996 and 2003 and has managed Charlton and Birmingham, has also been mentioned as a possible short-term replacement.
