India's 20-Member Women's hockey team has been announced for Australia Tour.

India's hockey governing body has officially announced a 20-Member Women's hockey team for the upcoming for three-match series in Australia, to be held in Adelaide from May 18 and will conclude on 27th May.

India will play Australia in the first three games of the series, followed by two matches against Australia A. All the matches will be played at MATE Stadium in Adelaide.

The team will be led by ace goalkeeper Savita who was recently honored with the Balbir Singh Sr Hockey India Player of the Year (2022) Award.

Savita will be assisted by veteran defender Deep Grace Ekka as the team's vice-captain.

The tour will be part of the team's preparations ahead of the all-important Hangzhou Asian Games.

India will play their opening match of the tour on the 18th of May before playing back-to-back games on the 20th and 21st of May.

The visitors will then compete against Australia A on the 25th and 27th of May. The Australian women's hockey team is currently ranked third in the world, while the Indian team is ranked eighth.

Indian Team:

Goalkeepers: Savita (C), Bichu Devi Kharibam.

Defenders: Deep Grace Ekka (VC), Nikki Pradhan, Ishika Chaudhary, Udita, Gurjit Kaur.

Midfielders: Nisha, Navjot Kaur, Monika, Salima Tete, Neha, Navneet Kaur, Sonika, Jyoti, Baljeet Kaur.

Forwards: Lalremsiami, Vandana Katariya, Sangita Kumari, Sharmila Devi.
