Forest's Scott McKenna has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Nottingham Forest has officially confirmed that central defender, Scott McKenna has been ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season.

The central defender was forced off in the first half of Saturday's 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield after falling awkwardly. It was just his second game back in the team after missing seven games with a hamstring injury.

It has now been confirmed that the 26-year-old will miss the remaining six games of the season with a broken collarbone.

Now, the Scotland international will miss the remainder of the campaign. Scans have confirmed that the centre-back has fractured his collarbone and the road to recovery starts once again for him.

McKenna played for the 100th time in a Forest short on Saturday. He cost the club around £6 million from Aberdeen in 2020 and he’s proved a firm hit with the fan base.

The 26-year-old was a massive player for the Reds as they reached the Premier League last season. He won the Player of the Year award and was also named Man of the Match during the Play-Off Final.
