Emma Raducanu will miss the upcoming French Open and Wimbledon due to ankle surgery.

The 2021 U.S. Open champion, Emma Raducanu is set to miss the upcoming French Open and Wimbledon as the British number one recovers from hand and ankle surgery.

Emma Raducanu has been dogged by injury problems in recent months and pulled out of the Madrid Open in April with a hand injury.

Raducanu has said that she will be "out for the next few months" and will miss "the summer events", by which she is likely to mean the two Grand Slams during that period, the French Open and Wimbledon.

Previously, Raducanu became one of the stars of tennis in 2021, when she made a surprising run to the fourth round at Wimbledon as a teenager ranked outside the top 300, then, soon after, won the U.S. Open to become the first qualifier to claim a Grand Slam singles title.

The French Open begins on May 28 and Wimbledon will begin on July 3.
