Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nitu Ghanghas conquered the World Championship title in New Delhi.

India's Women's Boxing ace, Nitu Ghanghas has been crowned with the World Championship title at the 2023 Women's World Boxing Championships at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

Following her remarkable win, Nitu Ghanghas became the sixth Indian boxer to be crowned world champion.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nitu Ghanghas (48Kg) punched out Mongolia's Lutsaikhan Altansetseg by 5-0 and claim the title for the minimum weight category in front of highly anticipated crowd.

In a battle of southpaws, Nitu won the first round against the Mongolian boxer after landing a few clean punches and finding gaps in her opponent's defence.

Later, in the final round was a show of good defense by Nitu as she defended her lead to clinch her maiden World Championships gold.
