Brentford FC has appointed Lydia Bedford as head coach of their under-18s side.

Former Leicester City Women's manager Lydia Bedford has been appointed as the head coach for Brentford F.C. men's under-18s side.

Bedford leaves her position on Jonas Eidevall’s Arsenal Women’s staff after helping them to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final and a top-three finish in the women’s top-flight following her departure from the Foxes earlier in the season.

She will work alongside Jon-Paul Pittman, who joins Brentford as her assistant coach from Forest Green Rovers.

Bedford worked at the FA with the England Women’s youth teams until she took over as manager of Leicester Women in November 2021.

She helped Leicester avoid relegation from the WSL in 2021-22 but was replaced the following season after a poor start.
