Adam Smith-Neale Suspended: World Number 82 Faces Allegations of Assaulting Opponent.

Adam Smith-Neale, a professional darts player, has been suspended by the Darts Regulation Authority following allegations of assaulting an opponent at the conclusion of a match during an amateur event last Saturday.

A video circulating online suggests that Adam Smith-Neale, aged 30, engaged in a physical altercation during an event in Nuneaton. As a result, the world number 82 darts player has been suspended from participating in DRA-sanctioned events.

Smith-Neale has the option to challenge the suspension and will undergo a disciplinary hearing. The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA), the governing body for darts, confirmed the suspension, citing allegations of assault against another player at the conclusion of a match during an amateur event held on March 9th, 2024.

The DRA Chairman, Nigel Mawer, made the decision to suspend Smith-Neale, emphasizing his right to appeal the suspension and stating that a disciplinary hearing will be scheduled at a later date.

Smith-Neale, who made a comeback to the PDC tour last year after a five-year hiatus, will be absent from the upcoming Players Championship 5 and 6 events in Hildesheim, Germany.

A spokesperson from the PDC stated, "We are aware of a video circulating on social media from a non-affiliated event involving a Tour Card Holder. The Darts Regulation Authority has been notified and is conducting an appropriate investigation."
